Privacy Policy

Nuwzly ("we", "our", "us") is operated by WaffleSoft. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.

What We Collect

• Account information — email address and display name, used for authentication and personalizing your briefing. If you sign in with Apple, we receive the email address you choose to share (which may be an Apple relay address) and your name if you provide it.
• Preferences — your selected news categories, schedule, and briefing length. Used to generate your personalized briefing.
• Listening data — which stories you listen to, skip, or rate. Used to improve briefing quality and displayed in your personal listening history.
• Device token — push notification token, used to notify you when your briefing is ready. Deleted when you unregister or delete your account.
• Analytics — usage events (app opens, feature usage, playback behavior) via PostHog. Events are tied to your account for product improvement but are not shared with third parties or used for advertising.

What We Don't Collect

• We don't sell your data to third parties.
• We don't build advertising profiles.
• We don't track you across other apps or websites.
• We don't share your listening history with anyone.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to provide and improve the Nuwzly service: generating personalized briefings, sending push notifications, processing subscriptions, and improving the product based on aggregate usage patterns.

Data Storage

Your data is stored securely on Supabase (hosted on AWS) with row-level security policies. Audio files are stored in Supabase Storage. All connections use TLS encryption.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive subscription status updates but never have access to your payment information.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app. This permanently removes your account, preferences, listening history, and all associated data from our servers.

Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate Nuwzly:

• Supabase (AWS US) — authentication, database, file storage
• RevenueCat — subscription management (receives your subscription status, not payment details)
• PostHog — product analytics
• Sentry — crash reporting and error tracking (receives device and app state data, not your news preferences or listening history)
• Apple Push Notification service / Firebase Cloud Messaging — briefing-ready notifications

We also use third-party services for audio generation and content creation. These services process content on our behalf but do not receive your personal data. We do not sell or share your personal data with any third party for their own purposes.

Data Retention

We retain your account data and preferences for as long as your account is active. Briefing audio files are retained for up to 48 hours after delivery. Operational logs are automatically purged after 30 days. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data (available in Settings > Delete Account)
• Object to or restrict processing of your data
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format

Children

Nuwzly is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the app.
